Scuba Diving
With the world's third longest barrier reef, an immense amount of underwater biodiversity, warm tropical waters and excellent underwater visibility for almost all the year, Providencia is Colombia's top diving destination. Most of the surrounding seas have been designated a protected area by UNESCO and are now known as the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve. The largest reef here has an area of 255 square kilometres.
There is a great diversity of different dive sites - cliffs, caves, blue holes and many sunken pirate ships and galleons. The great range of sites means that Providencia is suitable for all divers, whether novice or experienced. This may be the laid back Caribbean, but the local diving operators are professional and equipment is of a high standard. Plus it's amazing value to go diving here.
In depth information about diving and dive sites in Providencia can be found on providenciadive.com. Alternatively contact Hotel Sirius, Sonny Dive Shop , Felipe Diving or Dive Old Providence - all offer specialist diving packages.
